Stilida

Stilida is a coastal city, which lies about 18 km from Lamia, being essentially the port of Lamia, but also the commercial port of the whole prefecture of Fthiotis.

It is built on the outskirts of the mountain Othrios (the mountain of the Titans), in the center of a vast olive grove, and is situated at amphitheatric arrangement.

Stilida is a city rich in history. It is built on the ruins of the ancient city "Falara", and there are ruins of the two ancient castles of the city, ath  positions "Agia Aikaterini " (ath the west) and "Kalogeros" (at the east). Other major attractions are the monasteries of Agios Vlassis and Agios Georgios and the Monastery of the Holy Archangels in Neraida. Also an important monument is the monument  of the 1821 agonist Kassomoulis, at the point where his grave is.

In Stilida was created the first Center for Environmental Education in Greece (1998), with a "twin" station in Ypati, in order to be possible to control the ecosystem in the triagnle Maliakos gulf- Iti mountain-Sperchios river.
